Während des Urlaubs ist in dem Beet, in dem ich den Winter-Lauch ausgepflanzt hatte, einiges an Unkraut aufgegangen. Bei näherer Betrachtung ist das zwar tatsächlich einiges an Unkraut, aber das Meiste ist wild aufgegangener Asia-Salat. Jetzt die Frage: Rausnehmen, damit der Lauch nicht überwuchert wird, oder die Salate drin lassen und sich am Salat freuen, der Lauch schafft das schon?

I noticed today that an update to the #Linux #Zoom client has made it start proactively reading _everything_ written to the X11 clipboard.
If you keep interesting secrets in your clipboard – particularly, if a password manager uses it as a means of getting the password to where it needs to be – this might be a thing you need to know about!

In modes derived from special-mode (e.g., help or info buffers), q is bound to quit-window, which will bury the buffer but not kill it. Most of the time I DO want it to kill the buffer too, though, which can be achieved with C-u q.
Emacs 31.1 made this a lot easier by adding a variable called quit-window-kill-buffer:

It is not easy to avoid this topic in full. The hardest part is that other topics are "AI-soaked". You can follow other people because they do good things (programming, making art and other), but they might also touch AI in any way. Is it worth then to not follow them?

@bpl @kaleissin @stefano I've been building a GenAI Discourse™ filter set for a while that's now >500 terms, and takes a couple *hours* every week to continue adding terms just so I can engage with the topic in a way of my choosing.
people can talk about what they want and what's important, that's the point of social media, but what's going on here is well beyond that.
the fedi "region" I'm in, I would not currently recommend to 95% of people looking for an offramp from megacorp social media.
